To me, as long as we have a society that is based on the idea that ‘we don’t know where we come from’, and that things like your name and ethnicity and country are ‘where you come from’ and ‘make you who you are as a person’, then we will have division, competition, judgment and prejudice. Because we will be living to protect and defend self definitions based on our differences.
To me, the only way racism will truly end, is when we have a Humanity that sees itself as Life — a Humanity that sees that Life is where we come from and Life is what makes us Equal. Life makes us who we are. Life is my primary Self Definition. Then things like culture and name and nationality become part of our unique expression, instead of a Difference we define ourselves within.
