Understanding Anger: When Frustration Escalates to Rage

In this blog I’m walking through Self Forgiveness and Self Corrective Statements in relation to the pattern where a reaction of frustration quickly or immediately escalates into anger and rage.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to go into a Reaction of Fighting and Resistance when the Moment does not go the way I Want it to.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to want to control the moment to be what I want, and to go my way

I forgive myself that I have not accepted and allowed myself to see and realize that when I try to Control the moment to be what I want, then I manifest a Friction within myself toward the moment, as I am holding myself within the Polarity Design of Fear of not experiencing what I want, and the Desire to experience what I want.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to fear Accepting what is happening in the moment when things are ‘not going the way I want’, within believing that if I accept what is happening, then I am becoming a victim of the moment and ‘being denied what I want’, instead of seeing and realizing that I am already a victim – a victim of my own fighting which is the actual limitation that keeps me from being able to adapt, be flexible, change, consider, and see how I may actually be capable of participating in the moment, and what choices might actually be available in terms of how I can experience myself and choose to approach what’s happening

I forgive myself that I have not accepted and allowed myself to realize and see that Accepting what is happening does not have to mean I Accept it as unchangeable – it only means that I am not Denying it. So Acceptance gives me the foundation of being able to see what is actually possible in a moment.

I forgive myself that I have not accepted and allowed myself to see and realize that when I get upset or frustrated or annoyed or irritated in moments during my day, the moment is showing me where I am Judging something because it is preventing me from Controlling the moment to be the experience that I want.

I forgive myself that I have not accepted and allowed myself to see and realize that I do not need to “Control the Moment” within wanting and trying to “Have an Experience”, in order to Express myself, Direct myself, and make Choices in the moment

I forgive myself that I have not accepted and allowed myself to realize and see that when I am trying to Control the Moment, that means I have formed an idea about how I want to Experience the moment, which is now already in the PAST in my Mind – which means I am not Present, Here, in and with the Moment, but I am stuck in the Past as the idea of ‘what I want to experience’, and thus I am Missing Out on the Moment – and whatever opportunity for Expression, Creation, Direction, or Self Enjoyment may be Here.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to want and expect the moment to be an experience of things ‘being easy’

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to want and expect the moment to be an experience of ‘calm and peace’

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to want and expect the moment to be an experience of ‘things working the way I want them to’

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to want and expect the moment to be an experience of ‘others agreeing with me’

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to want and expect the moment to be an experience of ‘knowing what to do’

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to want and expect the moment to be an experience of ‘comfort and ease’

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to define Words within wants and desires to ‘get’ those words as an ‘experience’, within this defining Words to be conditional on and dependent on the moment playing out a certain way, where – when it does not play out the way I want = then I feel that I am ‘being denied those words’

I forgive myself that I have not accepted and allowed myself to see and realize that when I get upset when the moment does not ‘give me the experience I want’ — I am being presented with an opportunity to reflect on what ideas and expectations I have defined a word within, and how I can adapt and change the way I am living that word

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to believe in the fear that if I am ‘not in control of the experience of the moment’, that means I am ‘powerless’ and ‘a victim’, and ‘not able to direct the moment’

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to believe that I actually have ‘free choice’ to make the moment what I want at all times, instead of seeing and realizing that I am part of a reality that include countless factors in play at all times – that are not taking into account ‘what I want to experience’.

When and as I experience myself getting upset at how the moment is playing out, I commit myself to stop, breathe, and unconditionally reflect on what expectations, ideas, and desires for experiences I brought with me into the moment

When and as I experience myself ‘being denied the experience of a word that I want to have’, I commit myself to unconditionally stop and reflect on how I have defined that word

When and as I experience myself going into a reaction of fighting and resistance toward what is happening in the moment, I commit myself to make the Decision to Accept the moment, Accept what is happening, and within this unconditionally Let Go of what I want the moment to be.

I commit myself to remind myself that I do not need to control the moment in order to create what I enjoy and what is best for me

When and as the moment presents me with unwanted, unexpected effort, I commit myself to Accept the Work, and Accept the Effort

When and as the moment presents me with disagreement, I commit myself to Accept the Disagreement

When and as the moment presents me with inconvenience, I commit myself to Accept the Inconvenience

When and as the moment presents me with an obstacle to what I want, I commit myself to Accept the Obstacle to what I want

When and as the moment presents me with discomfort, I commit myself to Accept the Discomfort

When and as the moment presents me with being blamed for something, I commit myself to Accept Being Blamed for Something

When and as the moment presents me with possibly being wrong, or not having the most effective approach, I commit myself to Accept being wrong and / or not being effective

I have actually been applying the above type of Acceptance statements over the past couple of weeks, in moments where I feel myself reacting and getting frustrated or angry about something. I’m finding that when make the decision to Accept what is happening, and I voice / sound the Acceptance statement aloud in that moment, I actually move myself out of the reaction, and feel more grounded. It’s like the Acceptance is a Self Movement of Humility and Grace, and I’m finding that in this, I’m then seeing the moment differently. It’s easier to see things as they are instead of blowing them out of proportion, because I’m unconditionally giving up my control of the moment (still a work in progress) which is enabling me to see what’s actually happening and what’s possible – just as I’ve described in the Self Forgiveness statements above. I find that the reason the above type of statements are so effective for me, is that I am identifying the SPECIFIC word or words that I am reacting to, and then making a decision to change my relationship to the word / words in that real time moment – challenging my pattern of fighting that word, by Accepting the word and seeing what new expression opens up from that.
